Just a quick one this as I have been a bit remiss in updating the site recently, normal service as of May.
Anyway, April is a time for a bit of harvesting – Asparagus, spring cabbage and cauliflower, sprouting broccoli and the last of the leeks and kale.
Some seeds can be sown outdoors if the soil is warm enough and not waterlogged – beetroot, turnips, early lettuces and rocket are a few to start with.
Plant second early and main crop potatoes and the last of your onion sets. Earth up first early potatoes.
Prepare seedbeds by weeding thoroughly and rake over the soil.
